The Higher Education Department of Punjab has announced that all public college admissions across the province will move completely online starting in 2027. Paper-based applications and printed prospectuses will be permanently stopped under the government’s new paperless policy.
What Changes for College Students?
According to Dr. Ansar Azhar, Director of Public Instruction (DPI) Punjab, this decision aims to save time, reduce paperwork, and eliminate the need for long queues outside college campuses.
Key updates regarding the new digital system include:
No Printed Prospectuses: Colleges will no longer print or sell physical prospectuses or admission forms.
Digital Applications: Students will fill out forms, select subject combinations, and upload required documents entirely through an online portal.
Online Fee Payments: Fee collection has already transitioned online and will remain integrated into the digital admission framework.
Paperless Policy: The entire admission process will be completed electronically from application submission to final seat confirmation.
Advice for Students and Parents
Education officials advise students and parents to avoid visiting college offices in person for routine admission tasks. The online portal allows applicants to apply for intermediate and degree programs from home using a smartphone or computer.
This digital transition is designed to make admissions more transparent, convenient, and accessible for students in every district across Punjab.
