284 Foreign Nationals Shifted to Adiala Jail Ahead of Deportation from Pakistan

Pakistani authorities have started shifting 284 foreign citizens to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. These individuals were recently arrested from a private housing scheme in Islamabad over allegations of running online scams and posting illegal, obscene content.

This step comes as part of official arrangements to deport all the arrested individuals back to their home countries within the next two weeks.

Cancellation of Visas and Temporary Transfer Permits

Official sources confirmed that government agencies cancelled the visas of all 284 foreign nationals a day before the transfer. Special temporary movement permits were issued to allow their safe transport from Islamabad to Adiala Jail.

• Deportation Timeline: Officials expect to deport all suspects within 15 days.

• Nationalities Involved: The majority of those arrested are citizens of China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

• Visa Violations: Most of the suspects had entered Pakistan on tourist or visit visas, violating local laws by taking part in illegal business activities and operating unauthorized call centers.
  
  

In addition, authorities revoked an earlier notification that had declared a commercial plaza in the housing society as a sub-jail, bringing all suspects under standard judicial custody at Adiala Jail.

Joint Crackdown by FIA and Cybercrime Authorities

The recent arrests follow a massive joint operation in Islamabad conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). During the raid, security forces detained nearly 400 foreign nationals, including 258 Chinese citizens. A formal case was registered under the Foreigners Act.

Checks through the Integrated Border Management System revealed that many individuals, particularly those from Vietnam staying at SPARCO Plaza in Gulberg Greens, had overstayed or misused their travel visas.

In a separate enforcement drive, the FIA arrested 17 individuals across Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Sialkot for their involvement in human trafficking networks. Authorities are continuing nationwide crackdowns against illegal immigration and online fraud networks.
